Okja will have its world premiere at the 70th Cannes Film Festival and be the Closing Night Film at the Sydney Film Festival.
Bong Joon-ho the visionary director behind THE HOST and SNOWPIERCER, has assembled a cracking international cast that includes Tilda Swinton, Paul Dano, Byun Heebong, Steven Yeun, Lily Collins, Giancarlo Esposito, Jake Gyllenhaal and introduces An Seo Hyun as “Mija”
The film is in English and Korean and is about a young girl,named Mija, who risks everything to prevent a powerful, multi-national company from kidnapping her best friend — a massive animal named Okja.
After doing the above-mentioned film festivals, Okja launches globally on Netflix on June 28. So this goodness, this brilliantly realised fantasy madness, is going to be available on our tellys and devices — what a time to be alive, people!
