Ooh la la! French Film Festival Hits Perth

Tickets are on sale for the 24th annual Alliance Française French Film Festival which will return to Luna Palace Cinemas in 2013.

Founded in 1883 in Paris, the Alliance Francaise is an independent, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to promoting the spread of French language and culture around the world.

An impressive network of 1040 Alliances Francaises spread across the world in 136 countries. There are over 30 Alliances Francaises in Australia alone and these jointly orchestrate the festival here on Aussie soil.

The biggest foreign film event in Australia, it shall be offering up 43 new films and documentaries, many of which have received 2013 César Award nominations including:  After May,  Augustine, The Big Night, Camille Rewinds, Ernest & Celestine, Farewell My Queen, FEU by Christian Louboutin, Happiness Never Comes Alone, In the House, The Invisibles, Journal de France, Louise Wimmer, The Man Who Laughs, Our Children, Renoir, Sister, Thérèse Desqueyroux, and Marcel Carné’s 1945 masterpiece, Children of Paradise (Les Enfants du Paradis), which will screen on closing night in a fully restored print.

The festival runs in Perth from March 19 to April 7 with films screening at Cinema Paradiso, Luna on SX and Windsor Cinema.

Sian's love for movies spawned from having a tight mother whose generosity stretched only to hiring movies once a week for entertainment. As a pre-teen Sian spent more pocket money then she earned on cinema tickets and thus sought a job at the cinema.
