The trio of actors who introduced film-goers to JURRASSIC PARK in 1993, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum and Sam Neill, will reprise their roles in the third chapter of the Universal Pictures/Amblin Entertainment’s Jurassic World franchise. Dern will play Dr. Ellie Sattler, Neill will portray Dr. Alan Grant and Goldblum will again assay the role of the intense Dr. Ian Malcolm. Colin Trevorrow is returning to direct Chris Pratt as dinosaur handler Owen Grady and Bryce Dallas Howard as dinosaur rights activist Claire Dearing.
Trevorrow directed JURASSIC WORLD in 2015. It grossed $1.67 billion worldwide. The sequel, JURASSIC WORLD:FALLEN KINGDOM directed by J.A. Bayona, grossed $1.3 billion worldwide. Universal is obviously wanting a third billion dollar plus bonanza and casting the original actors to return to their beloved characters is a definite step in the right direction.
Universal has not disclosed plot details for JURASSIC WORLD 3 but has already set a June 21, 2021, release date.
