Oz Comic-Con pulls out of Perth and Adelaide

In massive convention news today Oz Comic-Con has pulled out of Perth and Adelaide from 2018 on wards, in a statement via Facebook today that has angered pretty much everyone the team have advised that “we have felt that the events have not reached the high standards that we aspire to, nor to the expectations that you have.” You can read the full statement below.

“Oz Comic-Con strives to make the very best events we can for our fans to celebrate their love for pop-culture. Our Perth and Adelaide fans are some of our most passionate fans in Australia – you are what makes the events so fun. However, recently we have felt that the events have not reached the high standards that we aspire to, nor to the expectations that you have. It is with this in mind that we have made the decision to no longer deliver Oz Comic-Con in Perth and Adelaide.

The Championships of Cosplay will continue with a presence in Adelaide and Perth as part of the national event and the official Australian leg of the “Quest for the Crown” global competition. We will have more news on this in January 2018.

We want to thank all our Perth and Adelaide for your support over the past years – It has been an absolute pleasure to bring the events to life with you.
-Oz Comic-Con team”

It’s a sad day when any event pulls out of any city let alone one I live in but I guess we can always be happy that Supanova Comic-Con & Gaming is still hitting Perth and Adelaide next year and for many years to come so we can all still have our convention/pop culture yearly fix.
