Pacific Rim is a new action/adventure/sci-fi film, directed by Guillermo Del Toro (PAN’S LABYRINTH, HELLBOY). The film stars Charlie Hunnam (SONS OF ANARCHY, COLD MOUNTAIN) and Idris Elba (PROMETHEUS, THOR). Pacific Rim is an apocalyptic film that sees us humans fight for survival after an invasion. Here’s the synopsis:
‘When an alien attack threatens the Earth’s existence, giant robots piloted by humans are deployed to fight off the menace.’
There has been quite some hype about this film on forums, Facebook and IMDB.com. A lot of the Sci-Fi and apocalyptic genre fans are wow’d just from the trailer and have said (quote) “It will make Transformers look like Play School.” (Facebook user). Some even believe the epicness (that’s a word, right?!) of the film will be immeasurable.
Do you think this film will be as good as the trailer and fans make it out to be? We’ll see if we’ve bought a ticket to a great Sci-Fi flick or a re-run of Play School when it hits cinemas 11 July next year.
