Paddington Bear Is Cast!

Paddington Bear Is Cast!

A Paddington Bear movie? Call me childish, but that is just too adorable! The cast is pretty darn cute too.

Somehow previous news of this upcoming movie had eluded me. But I’m now in the loop – and incredibly happy to be!

It comes to my attention as A-list casting gets underway. Nicole Kidman will be taking a turn as the badie, playing a determined taxidermist who wants Paddington – a rare species of bear –  stuffed (SCARILEDGE!)

She joins an already impressive cast, including British bigwigs Jim Broadbent and Julie Walters.

The most warm and fuzzy casting of all, however, is Colin Firth as the voice of Paddington Bear himself.

The film will be a mix of live-action and CGI – much like TED…just minus the sex, drugs and profanity.

With David Heyman (HARRRY POTTER) producing, and Paul King (MIGHTY BOOSH TV series) directing, the film looks set to have the right balance of magic and absurdity.

Principal photography is scheduled to begin this month, with the film to hit Aussie screens in January 2015.

Sian's love for movies spawned from having a tight mother whose generosity stretched only to hiring movies once a week for entertainment. As a pre-teen Sian spent more pocket money then she earned on cinema tickets and thus sought a job at the cinema. Over the next decade she rose to be one of the greats in her backwater, six-screen cinema complex, zooming through the ranks from candy bar wench with upselling superpowers, to pasty projectionist, to a manager rocking a pencil skirt. Sian went on to study Journalism at university though feels her popcorn shovelling days were far more educational
