After the success of PITCH PERFECT in 2012 it’s no wonder a second film has now been announced. After the non stop laughs and ‘aca-mazing’ performances from a very talented cast, I for one, am very excited to see how the sequel pans out.
If this wasn’t exciting enough, there has been an announcement of a new director who will also be making her directing debut. Nonetheless, she is witty, talented and a very smart young lady, the brilliant Elizabeth Banks who co-starred and produced the first film will be hard at work behind the camera for the sequel.
Universal Studios quote: “Elizabeth originated the idea for Pitch Perfect and was instrumental in making the first film such a huge success. She brings an enormous amount of energy and expenses to everything she works on and we’re thrilled that she is making her feature directorial debut on Pitch Perfect 2.”
Banks had mentioned previously that filming is expected to commence during the first half of 2014. No actors have officially signed on but Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson and Skylar Astin are all expected to return.
Hopefully Banks isn’t too busy bringing the film to life and is able to make an on screen appearance as the rather hilarious and inappropriate judge.
