Red Dawn Trailer Debuts

The remake of the much loved 1984 film of the same name is now finally going to be hitting cinemas. Red Dawn was shot back in 2009 and was originally supposed to be released in 2010 but then MGM the studio behind the film fell into some financial issues which resulted in the movie being shelved. The film stars a sensational cast including Chris Hemsworth, Josh Peck, Adrianne Palicki, Josh Hutcherson, Isabel Lucas and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

A city in Washington state awakens to the surreal sight of foreign paratroopers dropping from the sky – shockingly, the U.S. has been invaded and their hometown is the initial target. Quickly and without warning, the citizens find themselves prisoners and their town under enemy occupation. Determined to fight back, a group of young patriots seek refuge in the surrounding woods, training and reorganizing themselves into a guerilla group of fighters. Taking inspiration from their high school mascot, they call themselves the Wolverines, banding together to protect one another, liberate their town from its captors, and take back their freedom.

I original film is a favorite of mine starring actors such as the late Patrick Swayze, C. Thomas Howell, Lea Thompson, Charlie Sheen and Jennifer Grey so I am quite excited to see how the new film will work. In the original film the United States was invaded by the Soviet Union and its Cuban and Nicaraguan allies this time around its North Korea doing all the hard work.
