Resident Evil 5 Title?

Resident Evil  5 Title?

Things appear to be firming up for another film in the Resident Evil franchise with a few comments direct from series star Milla Jovovich herself via her twitter account.

The actress made reference to one of the shooting locations for Resident Evil 5 as well as a possible title for the film. The film is currently scheduled for release during September 2012 which is just under two years following the previous film.

Amongst her comments Jovovich posted the following;

i LOVE tokyo! 1 of my FAVORITE cities in the world! we’re gonna come film some scens 4 the nxt RE in tokyo!!!

Fans of the franchise would know that Japan has appeared in previous films with the opening sequence of Resident Evil:  Afterlife taking place within a stronghold of the Umbrella Corporation based in the country.

Further to that comment Jovovich commented;

i think its called RE: Retribution, but i have to ask paul 2 b sure.

The Paul she refers to of course being her husband Paul WS Anderson who has been involved in some capacity with each Resident Evil film to date either in a directing or producing role.

With a release date just over a year away, expect to see details firm up on the next Resident Evil film over the coming months.

Leith spent most of his formative years growing up on the coastal fringes of Western Australia without a cinema in sight. There he grew up on the wonders of home rentals before relocating to Perth and gaining access to a proper cinematic experience just in time for the Star Wars Special Edition re-releases. From there Leith's love of movies expanded to volunteering on a Star Wars fan film, reviewing films, writing about film news, and attending film and pop-culture related conventions on the other side of the world. Leith's favourite films are too many to mention but all start with the Star Wars saga, Back to the Future, the Dark Knight trilogy, Indiana Jones, Lord of the Rings and all things Kevin Smith. With an insatiable appetite for all things pop-culture related Leith also has an unhealthy addiction to the world of comics and can often be found buried under a pile of unread back issues madly trying to catch up on a number of titles coming out from mostly DC and Darkhorse.
