Shane and Clayton Jacobson will present the Perth Premiere of Brothers Nest plus a Q&A after the film at Reading Belmont Cinemas on Monday 11 June – for more details have a look below.
A NEW TRAGIC COMEDY
12 years after the phenomenal success of Kenny, director and actor Clayton Jacobson reunites with his brother Shane Jacobson for what is a very different film. The brother’s will present the Perth Premiere of their new film in Perth on Monday 11 June, 7.30pm at Reading Cinemas in Belmont; and the screening will be followed by a Q&A session with Shane and Clayton.
Label Distribution will release BROTHERS’ NEST, the new film directed by Clayton Jacobson, starring brothers Shane and Clayton Jacobson, across Australia on JUNE 21. The film had its World Premiere at the SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas in April, receiving rave reviews with Rolling Stone USA describing it as “a funny, messed-up and moving tale that’s part Greek tragedy, part character-driven theatre piece… the discovery of the SXSW Festival”.
On a cold winters morning in the middle of country Victoria, two brothers arrive at the family home with treacherous intent. Terry and Jeff’s motive is to make sure their dying mother’s plan to change her will in favor of her husband – their stepfather – is upturned. It is all meticulously planned, but there is one crucial thing the boys didn’t take into account – spending an entire day together. Old grudges, different worldviews and a general troubled history will pit these two brothers against each other. BROTHERS’ NEST is a pitch-black tragic comedy about family, loyalty and sibling rivalries – demonstrating that even ‘brotherly love’ has its limits.
Written by Jaime Browne and Produced by Jason Byrne, BROTHERS’ NEST also features Kym Gyngell, Lynette Curran and Sarah Snook and opens at Reading Belmont and Mandurah, and Luna Leederville and SX Fremantle.

UPDATE – Sadly Shane won’t be able to attend the Perth Screening…
Shane has snapped his Achilles Tendon which is a painful injury that usually takes more than 12 weeks of being immobile with the foot “above the heart” – as the surgeons say – to heal.
The accident happened when Shane was celebrating Daniel Ricciardo’s win at the Monaco GP. He literally jumped into the air and snap! He also has two blood clots and deep vein thrombosis as a result of the injury not being correctly diagnosed in France.
He is not allowed to fly anywhere for months.
However, Shane is determined to go on the publicity and screening tour to cities and regional centres – by bus (excepting Perth due to distance) – out of his love for his brother and not wanting to let the team and the film down.
