Shawn Wayans joins The Perth Comedy Festival next April

US comedy superstar Shawn Wayans is best known and loved by Aussie audiences for his decade-long movie career and stand-out roles in Little Man, White Chicks, Scary Movie and Emmy-award winning cult comedy series In Living Colour. After a huge sold out tour wiht his brother Marlon in 2013, Shawn is ready to hit Aussie shores solo for the first time with what promises to be a festival highlight.

 

Also joining Shawn is Ian Bagg (CAN) and Ivan Aristeguieta (VEN/AUS) joining homegrown funny folk Puppetry of the Penis, Stephen K Amos (UK), Urzila Carlson (RSA/NZ), Des Bishop (IRE), Jason Byrne (IRE), Daniel Sloss (SCO), Tom Segura (USA), Jonathan Pie (UK) and Aussie’s Nazem Hussain, Neel Kolhatkar, Alex Williamson, James Valentine, Alice Fraser, Amos Gill, Aunty Donna, Harley Breen, Luke Heggie, Matt Okine, Rhys Nicholson and our favourite locals Famous Sharron, Cameron McLaren and Matt Storer.

The Perth Comedy Festival hosts shows at the Regal Theatre (Subiaco), the State Theatre Centre of WA (Northbridge) as well as the Hellenic Club of WA (Perth).

The ever popular Perth Comedy Festival Gala is set for Thursday 26 April at the Regal Theatre; the perfect stand-up sampler, the Gala presents the unique chance to see emerging and established comedians on the one bill.

Optus customers will have access to the best seats in the house thanks to the Optus Perks ‘Best Seats’ promotion. Optus have reserved premium seats for the Festival’s hottest shows, including Shawn Wayans, Aunty Donna and Matt Okine. Optus customers will be able to purchase these from 10am on Friday 8th December to 10am Friday 29 December (or until allocation exhausted) via the Optus Perks website.

The full line-up will be revealed in March 2018.
