Stan Lee, the powerhouse behind the Marvel Comics empire, will return to Australia for the Supanova Comic Con & Gaming Expo in Brisbane, November 10-12.
From his humble beginnings as a publishing assistant in 1939, Stan achieved legendary status for his work as a comic book writer, editor, film producer and publisher, and most notably for leading the expansion of the Marvel Comics we know today.
Stan is famously attributed for co-creating some of the comic book world’s best-known superheroes, such as Spider-Man, The Incredible Hulk, Doctor Strange, the Fantastic Four, Iron Man, Daredevil, Thor and the X-Men, to name a few.
The comic book industry “Hall of Fame-r” last visited Australia three years ago, appearing as a guest at Supanova’s pop culture event in Sydney. While it was believed his visit in 2014 would be the last time we’d see Stan downunder, the 94 year-old has decided to return one last time.
Stan will appear all three days at Supanova’s Brisbane convention, signing autographs, posing for studio portraits and talking to fans through Q&A style panels. While his energy and seemingly endless youthfulness are becoming almost as legendary as his creativity, this really is a ‘last-chance saloon’ opportunity that’s not to be missed.
