Star Wars AOTC and ROTS 3D Hitting Cinemas

In rather senational news coming out of Celebration VI in Orlando LucasFilm has just announced the second two prequel films, Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, will get theatrical 3D re-releases on September 20, 2013 and October 11, 2013 respectively.

This is the best news I had all week, earlier this year Episode 1 3D hit cinemas to a modest box office amount which made me wonder if we would see the next two films as Lucasfilm came out publicly and said that if Ep1 didn’t do well we may never see the rest! So Hooray we will be seeing Ep2 and Ep3 in 2013 within a couple of months of each other.

So what does this mean for the Original Trilogy? Well I think we will start seeing them mid 2014, which is great considering originally Lucasfilm was going to release one movie every year.

We have no confirmed release dates for the Australian 3D re-release but with the US dates as above I would say we will get them around the same time.
