STAR WARS toy makers Hasbro just may have put their foot in it, revealing info about upcoming STAR WARS spin off movies… for the rest of the decade!
According to German website Star Wars Union, Hasbro revealed their future product lines at a recent event. Reportedly, one nugget of info divulged at said affair was the STAR WARS release schedule….right up until 2020!
It reportedly confirmed the first two spin-offs to be the long rumoured Boba Fett and Han Solo origin stories, but there was also mention of a third movie; “Red Five”.
Red Five was, of course, Luke’s call sign in A NEW HOPE, being the fifth X-Wing fighter in a squadron code named “Red.”
Speculation is rife regarding what Red Five could be about. It could feature a young Luke Skywalker earning his stripes as a Rebel pilot between Episodes IV and V. It could also be about a new fighter pilot who inherits Luke’s legendary call sign in another era. Or, the fact it would be released after Episode IX, could mean it has a whole new take entirely. One thing is pretty certain though: It would be a movie about X-Wing fighters.
How much truth can be found in these rumours is, as of yet, unknown. What is known, however, is that popular STAR WARS sites who published the info were asked to take it down…interpret that as you wish!
Here’s the breakdown reportedly revealed by Hasbro. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what’s accurate and what’s not.
· 2014: Rebels
· 2015: Episode VII
· 2016: Boba Fett
· 2017: Episode VIII
· 2018: Solo
· 2019: Episode IX
· 2020: Red Five
