Starz Takes Noir

Starz Takes Noir

Starz has green lit a live action adaptation of the Japanese animation show “noir”. I am not a huge fan of animae, however, a show about undercover female assassins kicking all kinds of ass in a covert mission to find out about their past and the connection to another shady organization, sounds pretty awesome. Do you want to know what is more awesome?

Sam (Evil Dead, Spiderman, Hercules, Xena, Spartacus, American Gothic) Raimi and his partner in crime Robert Tapert have created the project with the aim to produce. Sam is in pre production for the equally as glee worthy “Oz the Great and Powerful” starring Mila Kunis, which he will direct. It is only in the writing stage at the moment so we are not likely to see any glimmer of ass kickery until late next year. We can only hope that they keep it gratuitous and exploitive, just the way Raimi likes it.

The series follows two female assassins who team up to fight against a secret society. After discovering they’re mysteriously linked, the two, under the Noir moniker, have to work together until they get answers about why and how they are connected – or until one of them kills the other.
