Back in 2001 a group of guys called ‘Broken Lizard’ brought out a movie called Super Troopers, now I remember back in my late teens watching this movie like 50 times with my mates and I still kick back and watch it now if I need a good laugh. It was definitely one of the most hilarious movies to come out back then. After Super Troopers the guys then went on to bring out Beerfest in 2006 and The Slammin Salmon in 2009 but we have always wanted a sequel to Super Troopers and with rumours floating around over the last few years its finally happening via Crowd Funding on Indigogo.
Obviously when the original flick came out it only made about $23million on a $1.2million dollar budget which to me looks like a good number but it was never enough to get the greenlight on a sequel so the main crew of Steve Lemme, Paul Soter, Erik Stolhanske, Kevin Heffernan and Jay Chandrasekhar have taken matters into their own hands.
The lads need $2million to make the movie, which to be honest is quite the conservative amount considering how much low budget films these days cost to get made, obviously the guys are hoping to make well above that amount but luckily in the last 8 hours they have already hit the $1million mark so I think its pretty easy to say hitting the $2million will happen in a matter of days, or maybe even today!.
