Tarantino’s Next Project Announced

Quentin Tarantino’s next film has been announced. Titled DJANGO UNCHAINED the movie is a remake of Sergio Corbucci’s 1966 movie simply called DJANGO. The original movie starred Franco Nero who is tipped to have a small role in the new film. Keith Carradine is another veteran talent who might be involved. The rumours are particularly strong that Christoph Watlz from INGLORIOUS BASTERDS will take a major role.

The plot details that have emerged so far: Django is a freed slave, who assists a German bounty hunter to take down some bad guys for profit, then the bounty hunter helps Django to track down his slave wife and free her from an evil plantation owner.

DJANGO UNCHAINED will be inspired by the type of intense violent spaghetti western popularised by Sergio Leone, although there is some speculation that Takashi Miike’s 2007 movie Sukiyaki Western Django (in which Tarantino acted) will also be an inspiration. It begins filming soon. The Weinstein Company will produce and distribute the project.
