Created by the prolific Australian comedy outfit, Hot Dad Productions, this web series turned feature film is an unhinged take on the true story of the infamous Great Emu War that will have audiences laughing, gagging, and cheering till the very end. The non-stop joke fest stars some of Australia’s finest comedians including Damian Callinan, Lisa Fineberg, Aaron Gocs, Dane Simpson, Ben Russell, Lena Moon, Jonathan Schuster, Cameron James, Naomi Higgins, Ethan Marrell, and Luke McGregor.
THE EMU WAR will have its World Premiere at MONSTER FEST 2023 in Melbourne at Cinema Nova as the Closing Night Film of the festival on Sunday 22nd of October, with cast & crew in-attendance for a post-screening Q&A and followed by the festival’s annual Awards Ceremony and Closing Night Party.

SYNOPSIS: Based on the infamous Great Emu War of 1932, a rag-tag platoon of soldiers are driven into a brutal and bloody battle against Australia’s deadliest flightless beasts. Haunted by the kidnapping of his son at the hands of the Emus, Major Meredith leads the platoon behind enemy lines in order to kill the emu’s leader, The Queen Emu.
