Terminator Genisys Sequels Dated

Terminator Genisys Sequels Dated

It’s been a few years since we’ve seen a new Terminator film at this point, Terminator: Salvation was released back in 2009 starring Christian Bale and Sam Worthington, of course we’ve had a few seasons of the Sarah Conner Chronicles on TV however a new feature film has taken its time.

Terminator: Salvation was set-up in a way that would allow a new trilogy to unfold, however that obviously never eventuated but a new film titled Terminator: Genisys is edging closer and closer, due for release in mid-2015.

Paramount still has big plans for the franchise, not content to take a wait and see approach with Genisys, they have already announced dates for two sequels to the film! The second and third instalments of the new – new Terminator trilogy have been slated for May 2017, and June 2018.

No official word on story direction, however this new trilogy will see Arnie back in the role next year. With sequels already announced, Paramount is clearly planning ahead with a bit more confidence and certainty this time around. Let’s hope it pays off!

Leith spent most of his formative years growing up on the coastal fringes of Western Australia without a cinema in sight. There he grew up on the wonders of home rentals before relocating to Perth and gaining access to a proper cinematic experience just in time for the Star Wars Special Edition re-releases. From there Leith's love of movies expanded to volunteering on a Star Wars fan film, reviewing films, writing about film news, and attending film and pop-culture related conventions on the other side of the world. Leith's favourite films are too many to mention but all start with the Star Wars saga, Back to the Future, the Dark Knight trilogy, Indiana Jones, Lord of the Rings and all things Kevin Smith. With an insatiable appetite for all things pop-culture related Leith also has an unhealthy addiction to the world of comics and can often be found buried under a pile of unread back issues madly trying to catch up on a number of titles coming out from mostly DC and Darkhorse.
