If you are wondering why, you wouldn’t be the only one.
Sony Pictures have confirmed that the 1996 cult favourite will be remade with the help of director, Leigh Janiak. She will also co-write the new version of the classic with Phil Graziadei, whom she has worked with previously on her 2014 breakthrough film, Honeymoon.
The original film starred Fairuza Balk, Skeet Ulrich, Robin Tunney, Rachel True and 90s scream queen, Neve Campbel. The story centred around four teen witches who went from using their powers for fun to ultimately using it for vengeful acts towards others.
No word on whether any of the stars from the 1996 version will make a cameo, but Doug Wick and Lucy Fisher, who served as producers on the original ’90s flick, will be back in the same capacity .
