For quite a while now word has been out there about the possible ‘The Crow’ Remake, it got greenlit not so long ago and Nick Cave was attached to write the peice, now theres more news that has just hit us. I’m a massive fan of the original even to going to the extend of reading a few of the Brandon Lee books that were published not so long after that fateful incident back in 1994.
I don’t know what it is about the original but for no matter how many times I watch it, I still love it.. The music, the look and the performances, I dunno it sort of just ‘moved’ me in a way. So the news out today is that Carlos Fresnadillo has been announced via Relativity Media that he will be directing the film, Fresnadillo is behind such films as ’28 Weeks Later’.. A great choice in my eyes! Shooting is set to begin this fall.
Funny enough previously to this Stephen Norrington was tapped to be behind the camera! If that was the case we would never have seen the character Eric Draven.. he was planning to go in a totally different direction, lucky for us Fresnadillo has also announced he will be focusing on Draven! So another bit of great news for the day.
I forsee this movie being out end of next year, but never know… and for just the sheer fact it was an awesome movie, check out the trailer to the original 1994 classic “The Crow” starring Brandon Lee below and after writing this I think I may just go watch it.
