The Lucky One World Premiere hits Melbourne

Warner Bros and Village Roadshow have announced the World Premiere of Zac Efron’s next film THE LUCKY ONE will be held in Melbourne, also attending will be co-star Taylor Schilling and Director/Writer Scott Hicks.

THE LUCKY ONE tells the story of U.S. Marine Sergeant Logan Thibault (Efron) returns from his third tour of duty in Iraq, with the one thing he credits with keeping him alive—a photograph he found of a woman he doesn’t even know. Learning her name is Beth (Schilling) and where she lives, he shows up at her door, and ends up taking a job at her family-run local kennel. Despite her initial mistrust and the complications in her life, a romance develops between them, giving Logan hope that Beth could be much more than his good luck charm.

Efron has graced our shores a few times over the last few years but this is the first time we will be seeing Taylor Schilling down under for fans of Hospital TV shows you may have seen her as Nurse Veronica Callahan in the show ‘Mercy’ and shes also in the upcoming Ben Affleck film ‘Agro’. Academy Award Nominee Scott Hicks directed the film and will also be in attendence he has been behind the camera on such Aussie films such as ‘The Boys are Back” (2009) and ‘Shine’ in 1996.

Melbourne will host the World Premiere of the film which will be followed by a Sydney Premiere shortly after. I really like the look of this film. Efron is continuing to prove he has some rather impressive range from films as ’17 Again’ and ‘Charlie St. Cloud’ plus I’ve been a massive fan of Schilling ever since ‘Mercy’ aired obviously this looks like you may need to bring out the tissues it looks like a really good drama.

THE LUCKY ONE releases in Australian cinemas nationally on 19th April 2012.
