‘When the evil wizard Gargamel chases the tiny blue Smurfs out of their village, they tumble from their magical world and into ours — in fact, smack dab in the middle of Central Park. Just three apples high and stuck in the Big Apple, the Smurfs must find a way to get back to their village before Gargamel tracks them down.’
Everyone’s favourite little blue creatures are making their way to the big screen! AND we will get to meet the little critters up close and personal in 3d, Hoo-rah!
‘How I Met Your Mother’ favourite Neil Patrick Harris is set to play a human in ‘The Smurfs’ movie, which is a mixture of CGI and live-action. Director Raja Gosnell is attempting his second film in this style, his first being ‘Scooby-Doo’. Apparently Quentin Tarantino was approached to provide the voice of the wonderful Brainy Smurf, but alas, he turned it down. Katy Perry also makes her acting debut in the movie… if you can call it that, since she will only provide the voice of Smurfette, and not actually act in it. She does seem to be sporting a lot of blue lately, perhaps it is in preparation to get into character.
The release date has already been pushed back twice; however, it is now scheduled to be released in August 2011.
La la la la la la, sing a happy song.
La la la la la la, Smurf your whole day long.
