This week, Universal Studios in the U.S. have pulled the release date of the prequel to The Thing from it’s April 29 2011 to an undetermined date.
Sources are claiming that the reason for this is for reshoots and additional photography. It’s highly likely that this is the case as most films nowadays do have a block of time allocated for additional photography.
What’s not known is whether this means more time to add digital effects or (hopefully) practical. Either way, we can expect to see the film in 2011 and let’s hope that this delay strengthens the film and not weaken it.
According to Universal Australia’s schedule, it’s still on for an April 21st bow.
