Recently while promoting his new film ‘Robin Hood’, Ridley Scott spoke to collider.com about the alien prequel. It seems Ridley now plans on making two alien prequel films as a lead up to the original classic. When asked if he was developing the new movie as a larger story Scott stated “It’ll be two. It’ll be prequel one and prequel two. Then Alien 1.”
There seems to be no word yet as to whether the two films will be shot back to back or separately however Scott did discuss briefly the challenges filming an Alien movie in 3D would present, primarily in regards to the lighting.
So there you have it, two new Alien films in 3D no less, with the films not even in pre-production yet you can be rest assured they will be filmed in 3D as opposed to a post-production conversion process such as what Clash of the Titans suffered.
It’s still a long way off seeing these films in cinema and things could change but for now the possibility of two new films give Alien fans plenty to look forward to.
