Well it seems interest in an Uncharted film adaptation hasn’t completely vanished from Sony’s radar, even though time has passed since the David O’ Russel version appeared to be gathering momentum.
Shawn Levy is the latest name attached to the project, reportedly he is being brought in to take on directing duties for the film. Levy’s previous works include Real Steel, Date Night, and more recently a couple of episodes from hit series Stranger Things.
The idea of a film version based on the playstation exclusive Uncharted video games series has been coming up for years now, and seems a natural translation given the cinematic approach in the games. However to date it’s all been seemingly false starts, we’ll have to wait and see whether this latest development will get Nathan Drake to the big screen.
