Will Storm return to X-Men?

We’ve recently seen a number of casting announcements coming through for the new X-Men film from Bryan Singer, including a number of returning cast members from the first few films such as Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, and Anna Paquin.

No official word has yet come through on whether Halle Berry might return to the series, Berry of course played the character ‘Storm’ in the first three films. The question came up during promotion for Singer’s most recent film ‘Jack the Giant Slayer’ and he had this to say;

I can’t say whether Storm will be in the film. I don’t know yet. And it’s not necessarily a deal making aspect at all. I want to make sure it’ll make sense. But I love working with her.

Not much to go on there so we’ll have to wait and see. Reportedly Halle Berry was somewhat unhappy with where her character fit into the overall scheme of things with the earlier films, though she was given a more prominent role under Brett Ratner’s direction on X-Men: The Last Stand.

‘Jack the Giant Slayer’ is locked and heading into cinemas across Australia on 21 March 2013, no doubt Singer’s full attention will be on the new X-Men film soon, if it isn’t already!

Leith spent most of his formative years growing up on the coastal fringes of Western Australia without a cinema in sight. There he grew up on the wonders of home rentals before relocating to Perth and gaining access to a proper cinematic experience just in time for the Star Wars Special Edition re-releases. From there Leith's love of movies expanded to volunteering on a Star Wars fan film, reviewing films, writing about film news, and attending film and pop-culture related conventions on the other side of the world. Leith's favourite films are too many to mention but all start with the Star Wars saga, Back to the Future, the Dark Knight trilogy, Indiana Jones, Lord of the Rings and all things Kevin Smith. With an insatiable appetite for all things pop-culture related Leith also has an unhealthy addiction to the world of comics and can often be found buried under a pile of unread back issues madly trying to catch up on a number of titles coming out from mostly DC and Darkhorse.
