Comedians and film lovers Zachary Ruane and Alexei Toliopoulos will be touring their show ‘REFUSED CLASSIFICATION’ to comedy festivals around the country this year.
The hybrid show – part comedy, part documentary, part verbatim theatre – involves telling the true story of beloved film critics Margaret Pomeranz and David Stratton. Two of the biggest reviewers in Australia. They got to watch as many movies as they wanted. Everything was awesome… until the government tried to ban a little film called Ken Park.
‘REFUSED CLASSIFICATION’ is a little nugget of Australian history that surely would have gotten a bad review from Margaret and David.
Alexei is a writer, comedian, podcaster, film critic and technically an internationally acclaimed investigative documentarian. Currently, Alexei utilizes his unmatched encyclopedic knowledge and infectious passion to celebrate cinema on The Last Video Store.
